Every weekend at Mendota Hills Campground is packed full of unique things to do and activities for you and your family. We thought we would highlight a few that you can do on your own

Swimming

Cool off and relax! Featuring a splash pad, 60ft land inflatable water slide, and other water toys. Our swimming lake is the perfect place to catch some rays. Open from sunrise to sunset, children under 15 years of age must be supervised. Swimming passes and family passes available for Public, Monday through Friday only.

Nearby Golfing

Don’t miss out on the nearby beautiful Shady Oaks Golf Course. Purchase your game for you and your family at our Campstore and get a great discount on us!

Morning Yoga

Energize your weekend with our early morning yoga to get the juices flowing. Sign up at each weekend at the camp store and learn the details. Don’t forget to bring your mat and be ready to move.

RC Track

Bring your RC Cars and trucks out to this 60ft x 80ft limestone RC track. We also have a 13 acre grass field if this large track is not your fit.

Hay rack ride

Hayrides

Who doesn’t enjoy a good old fashioned hay ride? Meet in front of the camp store every Saturday to take a slow spin around the campground on our comfortable hay rack. Waving to your fellow campers is option 🙂

Frog Jumping Contest

The event that made MHC famous! A 40 year tradition! Each Sunday morning, gather in front of our camp store by 9:30am to pick your frog and watch them compete to exit the circle the fastest.

The Refuge Church Service

Gather every Sunday at 10am for our non-denominational church service. We are blessed to have a full time Pastor as well. All are welcome! In the summer, hosted in Pavilion. In the winter or bad weather, hosted in the Red Barn. Visit www.refugechurchcamp.org for more info

Around Amboy

Also, visit boutique shopping in local Amboy and Sublette.  Visit Ronald Reagan’s boyhood home in Dixon.  Only 45 minutes from Starved Rock.  Go Bird watching or hiking at our adjacent property Gremel Wildlife Sanctuary with over 395 acres of prairie and forest. Don’t miss the
beautiful Shady Oaks Golf Course and Clubhouse (1 mile away) or the John Deere Historical Site
